Ginny fell in love with Classics aged 12 when she started Latin at school; she continued on to do a BA at Oxford and a PhD at Princeton University in the US, where she taught undergraduate classes in Latin and Ancient History. Having gone on to teach Classics at Highgate School and the Lady Eleanor Holles School, she now tutors all the Classical subjects as well as English. Ginny has successfully coached students for entry into some of London and the southeast’s best schools, including Westminster (for the Queen’s Scholarship), Radley, Francis Holland and Channing. She also specializes in GCSE and A-level Latin and Greek, and preparation for Oxbridge interviews.
Ginny finds it a privilege to build a rapport one on one with her students and facilitate their learning. She tailors her approach to each student’s particular needs, taking into account their learning style, any problems or anxieties they might have with the subject, as well as what they enjoy or take an interest in. Ginny aims to equip learners with the skills, confidence and enthusiasm to carry on with their studies by themselves, offering a great depth and breadth of knowledge about the Classical world, several years of teaching experience, and of course an infectious love of her subject!
