Profile

Zoe is a kind, compassionate educator who brings warmth, patience, and genuine care to every student she works with. As both a teacher and a mother, she understands the importance of nurturing the whole child—supporting not just academic achievement but emotional wellbeing and confidence. Her approach is rooted in empathy, dedication, and the belief that every learner has the potential to thrive with the right guidance.

Zoe has extensive experience teaching AQA GCSE English Language and English Literature, Edexcel A-level English Literature, and Key Stage 3 classes covering a wide range of literature texts and genres. She has also supported Key Stage 2 students through literacy intervention as part of a Saturday school. Most recently, she served as Head of English at a high-achieving inner London secondary school—ranked 10th nationally for progress (Progress 8 score of 1.45)—where she built a strong track record of raising attainment. Under her leadership, English Language outcomes rose from 67% to 92% (grades 9–4), and English Literature from 83% to 96%.

Zoe’s teaching is underpinned by meticulous planning and a creative, student-centred approach. As a tutor, she brings these strengths to personalised sessions that are both engaging and outcomes-focused. Her fun, skill-based style helps students grow in both competence and confidence, while her insight into examiners' expectations ensures that feedback is targeted, relevant, and impactful.

Outside of the classroom, Zoe finds inspiration through yoga, creative writing, reading, and travelling. She is also currently learning Italian—a reflection of her love for learning and her hope to share the language with her young son as he grows. These passions enrich her teaching, allowing her to connect with students in thoughtful, imaginative ways.

Zoe’s students benefit from her holistic approach—balancing academic rigour with genuine care—and from her unwavering commitment to helping them achieve their very best.
