Zillah has tutored science and maths for seventeen years, from Key Stage 2 to GCSE level. She has extensive experience in online tuition, having worked online for many years with international students, and makes full use of the latest technology to make sure an online lesson can be as fun and interactive as a face to face one.

Zillah is patient and engaging, and places an emphasis on helping students to grow in confidence and develop more of a sense of ownership over their learning. She guides students towards an organised and systematic approach to exam preparation, and has helped dozens of students to achieve success in school entry exams and GCSEs. Nevertheless, science and maths education should be about much more than achieving good grades, and Zillah aims to help each student to ‘think like a scientist’, in understanding how to interpret information and evidence- a vital skill in the everyday world as well as in the academic one.

Zillah has worked with many students with special educational needs, including ADHD, epilepsy, dyslexia, dyspraxia, deafness and working memory difficulties, as well as students on the autism spectrum, and those experiencing anxiety, depression and other mental health difficulties. Zillah completed her first degree in Natural Sciences at Cambridge, and then undertook a PhD in Neuroscience at UCL. She then worked as a science specialist at the House of Lords and the civil service, and is now a full time tutor.
