Harry is an enthusiastic and attentive tutor who brings a passionate energy to his lessons. This encourages his students to reflect that passion back into their learning and thoroughly engage. Whilst creating a comfortable atmosphere and always ensuring some laughs in his lessons, Harry is committed to helping his students secure a deep understanding from his students in the content being studied.
Now undertaking a PhD in the Sonification of Dynamic Optimisation Algorithms at the University of Manchester, Harry utilises his interdisciplinary expertise in Mathematics and Music to tackle problems creatively. A graduate of the University of Leeds with a BSc in Mathematics and Music and MMus in Critical and Experimental Composition, throughout many projects over his academic career, Harry has developed a deep understanding of effective communication and collaboration.
Harry is highly experienced in teaching GCSE and A-Level Mathematics, and Music (both Theory and Performance). In every subject he teaches, Harry aims to inspire a curiosity in his students. He believes a student driven to explore their personal interests - and how they may relate to the material being covered - is a student displaying genuine passion for the subject, and one who will excel in their academic goals.
Harry's lessons predominantly involve using interactive online whiteboards to discuss topic areas that his students find particularly challenging, deep diving into the material to accomplish a solid understanding. These lessons may take the form of drills or quick-fire questions to gauge understanding, or, slower, more meditative approaches to ease in particular areas of struggle. In any case, the unwavering, crystal-clear channel of communication between Harry and his students is what makes his lessons so effective.
