Profile

George grew up in the Midlands, educated at Northampton School for Boys completing A Levels in History, French and Spanish. He holds a first class degree in History from the University of Warwick. He has 6 years of experience tutoring English, History, and Maths. He’s experienced working with students with various SENDs and students across a broad age range from primary school to A Level. He’s familiar with the main exam boards (AQA, Pearson Edexcel, OCR) for GCSE and A Level English and History. Outside of his tuition he is an actor, playwright and director of his own theatre company. He uses his creative work to make English Literature comprehensible and fun for his students. George believes one-on-one tuition is a fantastic opportunity to offer bespoke activities designed for the student to interact and engage with the subject matter or master skills that can sometimes get lost in larger classroom settings. Outside of work he enjoys cycling, the New Statesman cryptic crossword and winning the pub quiz at his local in Streatham.

Testimonials

Just wanted to update you on [son''s] GCSE results; he got an 8 in English literature (3 points away from a 9) and a 7 in English Language.

He is totally delighted (& surprised) and I just wanted to say a massive THANK YOU from all of us for all of your hard work, patience and kindness in your tutoring of him.

He enjoyed the sessions with you which was half the battle and liked working with you. he was totally convinced he was not and could not be good at English. You have helped him to realise this is not true. He could not have done it without you so I am incredibly grateful, not just about the results/ grades but in what this means in terms of the journey to helping his confidence and belief in himself which is priceless.
