Emily is an experienced tutor with a patient and creative approach. In her 20 years working as a tutor she has found that encouraging a child’s confidence and creativity are invaluable in unlocking their potential and achieving to the best of their ability. School environments are not suitable for all children and they may feel pressured or shy when surrounded by their peers. As such, Emily tries to re-enforce her position as a tutor rather than a teacher, and looks for innovative and fun ways to encourage her pupils to learn. She reads with all her younger pupils, regardless of the subject she is teaching as a way to build confidence and develop a strong and varied vocabulary. Emily can offer online or in person tuition in a wide range of subjects up to GCSE and A-Level including English, History and History of Art. She specialises in English, Maths, verbal and non-verbal reasoning for 7+ and 11+ entry exams and has helped successfully coached pupils into many of London’s top private and state school. These include JAGS, Alleyn’s, Dulwich College, Ducks, Whitgift, Sydenham High, St Dunstans, St Olave’s and Putney High School. She is also familiar with the Kent and Wandsworth tests, GL and CEM 11+ assessments.
