Daisy-May has worked as a tutor and educational advisor for over a decade, and believes her success comes from a combination of strong subject knowledge, careful attention to curriculum and assessment requirements, and the high-quality relationships she builds with students. She takes particular satisfaction in supporting students to become confident, independent thinkers and writers.

 

She holds a degree in Literature, Film and Theatre from the University of Manchester, alongside postgraduate study at institutions including Goldsmiths University (Screenwriting), RADA (Directing), and The University of Kingston (TEFL Teaching). She also achieved a notable academic record at A Level, including 100% scores in multiple subjects. Together, these experiences reflect a sustained commitment to learning across literary, theoretical, and creative disciplines.

 

Daisy-May works with learners from pre-school to postgraduate level, and has extensive experience delivering GCSE and A Level tuition across Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences subjects, including English Literature and Language, Media Studies, Film Studies, Theatre Studies, Government and Politics, Philosophy, Sociology, and Social Work. In Media Studies specifically, she supports students with theoretical frameworks, close textual analysis, application of key terminology, and the development of coherent, well-evidenced written responses aligned to assessment objectives.

 

Alongside her private practice, she has been recruited as an intervention specialist by schools including The BRIT School, EPA Academy of Performing Arts, and The Ormiston Academy Trust. Much of her work is one-to-one, allowing for highly tailored teaching that responds to individual strengths, needs, and learning styles.

 

Her approach as a tutor is often described as both methodical and engaging. She places particular emphasis on academic writing, critical thinking, and metacognitive awareness, and designs lessons that encourage students to articulate ideas clearly, test interpretations, and arrive at conclusions independently rather than being given answers. She has a strong track record of supporting successful applications to selective schools and universities, and of helping students achieve or exceed their target grades.
