Ben is an experienced 11+ tutor supporting students aged 8–13, with a particular focus on Years 4–6 preparing for entry to leading London independent schools, having successfully supported students to secure offers to schools including Dulwich College, Alleyn’s, and St Dunstan’s.

His teaching combines structured exam preparation with a strong emphasis on confidence, independence and long-term learning skills, enabling students to perform at their best under pressure.

Ben is particularly experienced in working with students who may lack confidence or engagement in their learning, helping them develop clarity in their thinking, enjoyment in the learning process, and the ability to work more independently. Parents consistently highlight his calm, patient and methodical approach, as well as his ability to build strong rapport while maintaining clear academic expectations.

He has experience supporting students with a range of additional learning needs, including dyslexia, ADHD and related attention or confidence difficulties. Alongside private tutoring, Ben works professionally in education as a course leader and writing and directing mentor, designing and delivering workshops and seminars for young people and adults. His background in storytelling and communication informs a clear and engaging teaching style, particularly in English and creative writing, where helping students express their ideas with confidence is often key to academic progress.
