Alice studied Biomedical Sciences at the University of Sheffield, where she achieved a First Class Honours Degree, received prizes in Neuroscience and ranked within the top 3 students. After achieving a Pass with Distinction in her research Masters, Alice is undertaking a PhD at King’s College London, researching brain development in Neurodevelopmental Disorders. Alice achieved 8 A*’s (Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Physics, Product Design, English Literature, History, Geography) and 2 A’s (French, English Language) at GSCE. At A Level Alice achieved a high A* in Biology and an A in Maths and History.
Alice began tutoring as an undergraduate in 2019. She aims to build confidence and foster the same interest for learning within students that she herself has. Alice accounts her academic achievements to working hard but also smart and loves to nurture the same in other individuals. Alice understands that engagement is essential to learning, as such she tailors her lessons to do so, using a mix of learning resources and activities.
After a rocky start with Biology in Year 12 (this is a huge understatement!) we decide that we needed some extra help for our daughter. Alice was nothing short of wonderful from the start. She set up a get-to-know-you zoom session so that we could meet and talk through what we needed and she explained how she thought she could help. She has proved to be kind, flexible, organised (the amount of resources that she helped our daughter to make was amazing) and of course, fantastic at her subject. She took a very despondent student and coaxed and encouraged her into believing that she could actually do it. Regardless of the outcome, Alice made a HUGELY positive difference. We are all super grateful and would highly recommend her.
