Tom is a full-time private tutor, with nearly 10 years of experience. He graduated from Cambridge in 2013 with a First-Class degree and achieved a Distinction in his Masters at Goldsmiths, University of London.
Tom puts into practice the approaches he has learnt from some of the outstanding teachers he had on his educational journey, accumulating a wealth of experience that helps Tom discover the right approach for each individual tutee.
Tom has a particular interest in teaching English, Politics, and entrance exams (with special experience teaching for 11+ and Common Entrance) and has tutored English and humanities subjects from KS2 up to undergraduate level. He’s worked within the educational system; working in-school, as a senior tutor at a tuition centre and homeschooled students with complex needs. Tom has worked with students with a variety of SEND requirements including ASD and ADHD. He’s also delivered Skype tuition to students across the globe.
Tom is adept at working with a wide range of pupils of different abilities, he delivers bespoke classes to suit each student and prides himself on making even the densest of topics interesting and accessible. Tom’s tuition is friendly, challenging and tailored to suit each learner’s needs and ambitions.
In recent years his students at 13+ have been offered places at St Paul’s, Downe House, Cheltenham Ladies College and won scholarships to Westminster (via The Challenge). Tom’s students at 11+ have won places at Haberdasher Aske’s, Tiffin, Godolphin and Latymer, Hampton’s and been awarded scholarships at RGS, Reeds, and King’s.
