Profile
Tom is a patient, diligent and agreeable tutor with a breadth of experience in education. Before joining Dulwich Tutors, Tom has worked with children with learning difficulties and with students of Herne Hill School preparing for their 7+ entrance exams. During his time at Dulwich College, in which he studied English, History and Theatre Studies to A-Level, Tom also volunteered on a programme to help the boarding community of the school learn English as a second language. As Tom is diagnosed with dyspraxia, he has a clear understanding of how to engage with children encountering difficulties in the structure of classroom lessons. Tom believes in providing a relaxed environment for students to discover their aptitude and confidence within a particular subject, outside the pressures of a school environment.
Having graduated from Warwick University in 2018 with a BA in English Literature, Tom is currently pursuing a Masters in Creative Writing. He has also worked as a researcher and script assistant, and is a published short story writer. He teaches English and History to A-Level, alongside Creative Writing and 7/11 + examination preparations.
