Sophie is a friendly and engaging tutor, who likes to teach with energy and encouragement. She is patient and likes to adapt her teaching style to fit the needs of each student. Having completed her undergraduate degree in Politics and Spanish at the University of Durham, she is now studying the ‘Conflict, Security and Development’ MA at King’s College London. A Spanish enthusiast, she spent her year abroad studying Politics at the University of Granada, Spain, before working at CEIPA Business University in Medellín, Colombia, running workshops for young entrepreneurs. She aspires to work in international development, with a focus on Latin America.
From her background as a sailing and windsurfing instructor, Sophie values fun in education. With personal experience of coping with dyslexia as a late diagnosis, only months before the GCSE examinations in which she achieved nine A* grades, she takes a personalised approach to tutoring and seeks play to each student’s strengths by finding creative solutions.
