    Profile

Samuel is an English Language, English Literature, and Law tutor who is based in London. He also teaches the 11+ and the 13+ with a focus on English. He attended Haileybury College in Hertfordshire where he achieved 9 A*-grade GCSEs and three A*-grade A-Levels in English Literature, Economics, and History.

After Haileybury, he took his first degree at Corpus Christi College, Oxford in English Language and Literature where he was in receipt of an Exhibitioner’s Scholarship.

He then secured a training contract with the Magic Circle law firm Allen & Overy. He completed the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course at BPP University where he achieved a distinction in both qualifications.

After working in the city for two-and-a-half years and qualifying as a lawyer in March 2020, he has since returned to academia. In August 2021, he will have completed a Master’s at King’s College London in Victorian and Modern Literature.

Samuel believes in the value of private tuition because it can be tailored to the needs of the individual student. If a student is looking to achieve the highest grades possible, then Samuel can arrange a tutoring plan with this goal in mind.

He can also assist with Oxbridge applications, admissions tests (particularly the ELAT), and interviews.

Alternatively, if a student needs support with their school work, then he can arrange lessons and feedback accordingly. Tutoring is, ultimately, an opportunity for intellectual engagement between the tutor and student. With this in mind, Samuel aims to build a friendly atmosphere that allows students to develop a passion for their subject both within and outside the lesson environment.

Samuel is a keen reader and runner. He is often found reading and running in his spare time. He also likes cycling, football, creative writing, and politics.
