Rowena is a very experienced Assistant Director of English with over 15 years teaching in private and comprehensive schools, and as a private tutor. She writes and examines the 11+ Entrance Examinations for her school and is also a highly experienced GCSE examiner for AQA. She has also taught the OCR and EdExcel specifications. She is a subject specialist and has experience teaching KS3 – KS5 in both English Literature and English Language. She has a proven history of raising attainment and helping students achieve their target grades or above.

Rowena is a friendly, sensitive, practitioner who personalises her teaching to every individual student. She has the experience and technical ability to truly understand a student’s area for development and precisely how to get them there in a calm, practical manner. Her lessons are fun yet challenging.

Rowena specialising particularly in Shakespeare, Poetry, Pre 19th Century literature. She is skilled in de-mystifying these subjects to make them engaging and simpler to understand their nuance.
