Rory is a bright and able tutor who loves his subject and loves teaching it. He has a First Class Degree in English Literature from the University of St Andrews and an MA in Writing for Stage and Broadcast Media from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. He has been tutoring both freelance and with Ivy Education for the past year. He also works for Kip McGrath Tuition Centre. In that time he has taught for over a hundred hours to a wide range of students. This has included English as a Second Language, English Literature and Creative Writing. As a result he is extremely familiar with all the English Literature syllabi from the 7 plus to A-level. His clients have included those who are newly arrived in the country and who want help with their conversational English to those who need help with their A-level resit exams to those who require extra attention due to learning difficulties. He has a great deal of experience in quickly assessing a student’s needs and tailoring a lesson plan specifically for them. Being a recent student himself he also understands the importance of balancing work with play when teaching in order to inspire passion in a student. This has become one of his core values as tutor and he finds it yields great results.
