A local of South London, Richard attended Dulwich Prep London before moving on to Tonbridge School in Kent where he earned an A* and 2 As in English, French and Spanish respectively. He graduated from the University of Southampton with a 2:1 in French and Spanish, during which time he spent his third year studying in Medellín, Colombia, where he took modules on Latin American history, film and photojournalism. Shortly after graduating he returned to Colombia, this time to work as a photographer and journalist. Thanks to 4 months spent working in Paris, Richard is now fluent in both languages.
Besides French and Spanish, Richard specializes in English and Maths for ages 11+ and 13+. Having successfully completed the Cambridge CELTA course, he has extensive experience of teaching on a one to one basis and hugely enjoys the process of seeing his students gain confidence in an area in which they once struggled. Richard’s experiences abroad mean that he is always interested in meeting and tutoring students of all ages and backgrounds, while ensuring that his lessons are fun and engaging.
Along with his passion for photography, Richard loves film and music, especially RnB and Soul, and is also a avid basketball fan.
