Profile
Quentin studied English Literature at Homerton College, Cambridge, graduating in 2013. In the 9 years since, he has been teaching at both primary and secondary levels, both in London and around Europe. He specialises in humanities, particularly English & French, as well as helping students pass their entrance exams. He has a track record of success in helping students reach their preferred schools. Previous students have been admitted to St. Paul’s (including Scholarship), Westminster, Dulwich College, Whitgift, Henrietta Barnet, Sevenoaks, NLCS, Highgate, Emanuel, KCS Wimbledon, Wycombe Abbey, Hampton (Scholarship), Latimer, Winchester & St Benedict’s (Scholarship).
At GCSE & A-Level he works closely with students to give them the tools they need to analyse language closely and structure answers more widely. Structure in particular is often something students find difficult in English, and he has developed a method of helping the students think about how to introduce, progress, and conclude their ideas.
By giving students the building blocks to be able to solve problems on their own, he can help improve their grammar, vocabulary and unlock their creativity so they are prepared for anything the test may throw at them. His teaching style is flexible and is specifically tailored to the needs of each student, as success looks very different for different pupils.
Quentin’s background in theatre, combined with his academic training at allows him to plan lessons that are both informative and engaging.
