Poppy is a creative and enthusiastic tutor and artist, specialising in primary art and education. Her aim is to inspire confidence through tailored sessions, fostering fun and supportive learning environments within which students can flourish. Teaching and dissemination are fundamental to all Poppy’s endeavours artistic or educational, and she is always seeking opportunities to inspire academic and artistic achievement through engaging educational formats.
Between 2014 and 2017 Poppy worked in Primary Schools across South East London as a Teaching Assistant, supporting children throughout KS1 & 2 of all abilities in group, one-to-one and whole class sessions. She also tutors students at Cameron House School. Poppy understands that the classroom can quell enthusiasm, and believes in creating access to the curriculum by nurturing inquisitiveness and responding to students’ specific learning styles.
Alongside tutoring, Poppy leads art workshops for galleries Auto Italia and South London Gallery. She is also a mentor and visiting lecturer on BA fine art at Kingston University and has her own art practice, exhibiting at Tate Modern and undertaking residencies in Poland, Italy, Spain and at Wysing Arts Centre in Cambridge.
