Patrick grew up in south London and Berkshire and gained A grades in Maths, Further Maths, Latin, Chemistry, Theatre Studies and General Studies at A-level. He graduated with a BSc Mathematics degree from the University of Warwick before studying for a further BA at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. Patrick has been tutoring children of all ages since 2009.
Patrick has tutored Mathematics from KS1 up to A-level, as well as Latin to GCSE and English and Science to 13+. He has undertaken specialist assignments including home-schooling, working with autistic and dyslexic pupils, running accelerated classes for year 5 and 6 children for Westminister Council, aiding foreign pupils adapting to UK syllabuses, and assisting students with behavioural problems.
Patrick enjoys preparing students for entrance exams and his tutees have gained places at schools such as Dulwich College, Trinity, Whitgift, St Dunstans, Royal Russell and Sussex House.
He likes to establish a calm, relaxed and light-hearted atmosphere where students are encouraged to be curious and are not afraid to make mistakes. When not tutoring, Patrick enjoys going to the theatre and cinema, and eternally trying to learn Italian.
“Patrick is great! He has been tutoring my eldest son for about a year now – first in GCSE maths, further maths and latin and now maths and further maths A level. My son thinks a lot of Patrick – he is patient, friendly and approachable and was especially helpful during the odd panicky moment pre-exams! Patrick has also recently started tutoring my other son in GCSE Maths and I’m sure from past experience that he will help boost my son’s confidence and enjoyment in a subject that isn’t his favourite. I would not hesitate to recommend him as a tutor.”
