Profile
Paloma graduated in Audiovisual Communication from Universidad Complutense de Madrid and studied a further three years at ECAM Film School to qualify as a Cinematographer. After working in the media industry for several years, as well as writing for the cinematography magazine Cameraman (now Camera & Light) and doing some tutoring for university students, she moved to London, where she began teaching Spanish, and enjoying another of her passions, theatre, becoming a coproducer and performer for Artman English, a company specialising in theatre for non-native English speakers.
Paloma is an experienced Spanish tutor in a variety of levels, from beginner to undergraduate, having guided many of her students to gain top grades at both Spanish GCSE and A Level and also has experience of working with neurodiverse students. She is passionate about sharing her native Spanish language and culture with others and believes in creating a positive environment for her students, in which they feel relaxed and can thrive.
Paloma enjoys tailoring the classes to the needs and interests of her tutees and uses a wide range of materials and stimuli (literature, music, videos, art, games, improvisation) to help them reach their goals. Her background in theatre also allows her to adapt drama exercises to her Spanish sessions, as they are a fun and confidence-building way to consolidate grammar, vocabulary and speaking.
