Nicola attended a Grammar School for girls in Kent and then went on to study Human Geography at University. Following a long career in Transport Planning, Nicola yearned to live abroad and take up teaching. She subsequently moved to south-east Asia where she worked as an English Teacher for six years and gained a Masters in Education. Missing the London weather (!) she has since returned and continues her teaching career in an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ primary school in East Dulwich. As a result, she possesses excellent communication skills, knowledge of the curriculum and tailoring lessons to meet the diverse needs of her students.
Nicola has experience of group and one-to-one tutoring from reception, primary, secondary, University students as well as adults. She considers her strongest subjects to be English grammar, literacy, Maths and Geography. She is well-versed on the requirements for the 7+ and 11+ SATS. She creates a patient, caring yet engaging study environment and strives to get the most out of her students to achieve and surpass their potential.
In her free time, she is keen on playing sports, cycling and yoga, as well as cooking and nutrition, and enjoys the cultural opportunities London affords. She has travelled extensively and often brings those cultural life experiences into her teaching.
