He grew up in South London and was educated at Dulwich College Preparatory School, Sevenoaks School (IB 43 points) and The University of Edinburgh (MA Hons First Class, English Literature). He has broad experience tutoring privately, and has also taught AS and A-Level Literature at a leading independent school in Sri Lanka.
Nicholas has experience teaching at all levels from 11+ through to university admissions, and specialises in tutoring English Literature, English Language and History. He is an ideal choice for students looking to improve essay writing, creative writing and public speaking skills; by engaging with students, he hopes to grow their love of literature and thirst for knowledge, ultimately bolstering their self-confidence in the progress.
Beyond tutoring, Nicholas is the author of ‘An Island’s Eleven: The Story of Sri Lankan Cricket’ – a history which has drawn praise from writers including Shehan Karunatilaka (Booker Prize winner 2022) and Peter Oborne (Press Awards Columnist of the Year, 2012; 2016), and was named Cricket Book of the Year by Wisden, The MCC and The Sunday Times Sports Book Awards. He is currently in the process of researching his second book.
