Millie holds a first-class degree in English from Churchill College, Cambridge and is currently completing an MFA in Theatre Directing at Birkbeck, University of London. She spent a year at London Enterprise Academy as a trainee English and Drama teacher working with children aged 11-16 with a particular focus on EFL and SEN support. Aside from her core subjects, she also taught across almost all other subjects including History, Mathematics, Geography and Music.
As a director in training, Millie uses her understanding of text and historical context on a daily basis as part of her working life. As a tutor, she is particularly passionate about understanding the unique skill set of each student as well as equipping them with the tools of effective revision and exam technique; to Millie this is the key to unlocking accelerated progress.
Millie understands the importance of adapting each lesson to the needs of individual pupils and gauging an appropriate level of challenge to make the work engaging. She has a great working knowledge of AQA English GCSE with a special interest in Shakespeare and poetry analysis.
With A Levels in science and mathematics, as well as essay-based subjects, Millie’s approach seeks to nurture an interdisciplinary curiosity in each child and stretch their capacity to express themselves with clarity and critical rigor.
Millie has also tutored Piano, supporting several students through their ABRSM exams. She holds Grade 8’s in Clarinet, Piano and Singing and went on to do a Voice Diploma.
