Melissa has worked at a number of arts organisations including Primavera Gallery, Ways With Words Literature Festival and the Tate Modern. She is also a published poet and has read her work all over the country, including at Ledbury Poetry Festival. She was recently shortlisted for the New Poets Prize, and is currently working on her debut collection. She plans to move on to postgraduate study in the next few years.
Melissa is a warm, inventive and experienced tutor with a broad scope of expertise, from Old English to contemporary writing. Her particular research interests include Shakespeare, women’s writing, postcolonial writing and contemporary poetry / spoken word. Melissa hopes to inspire genuine engagement in her subjects as well as boost her student`s grades, all the while offering dedicated, unwavering support. She has experience teaching AQA, OCR and Edexcel curricula.
