Lindsey is a bright, warm and engaging tutor. She has over 8 years experience as a private tutor of Science, Maths and English. She has specialist experience in Key Stage 1 and 2 tuition, including entrance exam preparation from 7+ through to 11+ with an emphasis on confidence building and creative learning. Lindsey develops personalised learning strategies for each of her students to keep them motivated and progressing. She always aims to spark and nurture a genuine interest in the subject at hand – it helps that her enthusiasm can be infectious!

Previous students have gone on to gain places at Kings College School (7+), St Paul’s Juniors (7+), Alleyns (7+ and 11+), Dulwich College, Colfes, Eltham College, St Dunstans, Sydenham High School and Bexley Grammar School (all 11+). Lindsey has also worked as a Key Stage 2 Science tutor for home-schoolers. She then tutored at Warner Bros Studios, delivering the Key Stage 1 curriculum to children of the stars!

Before tutoring, Lindsey graduated from the University of York with a 2.1 in Biology after achieving straight As at GCSE and A-Level (Chemistry, Biology and English Literature). She later undertook post-graduate training to become a registered Speech and Language Therapist and currently practices part time for the NHS in mainstream primary schools and an early years clinic. As such she is highly skilled at working with children with Education and Health Care Plans and develops targeted interventions to support children with speech, language or communication difficulties. These include Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD),Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) and Global Developmental Delay. Her understanding of language development, communication and the importance of child-led learning through play has heavily influenced her style of tutoring.

My son’s tutor was so lovely and her infectious enthusiasm for learning ensured by son actively looked forward to his session with her every week – during home learning in the pandemic then for 11+ exams. Although the sessions have been online, she and my son developed a great rapport early on and throughout their time together, she always found engaging, new ways of consolidating and developing his skills. We’re hugely grateful for all her effort and hard work, and my son is genuinely sad that his time with his tutor has now come to an end.

“Lindsey helped our son with English for 7+ entry exams at few academic selecting schools in Dulwich. We’re grateful that he got offers from all the schools he sat for assessments. Lindsey is a very dedicated tutor and her teaching style is very engaging, fun, and tailored to our son’s needs. She provided us feedback about our son’s progression and how we could possibly assist him at home.  She is an excellent tutor and our son likes her a lot. We have no hesitation to recommend her to all other parents.”

“Lindsey has been tutoring my 10 year old daughter for 6 months and I am really pleased with how things are going.  My daughter has definitely grown in confidence about her maths and Lindsey does a good job of keeping the lessons fun as well as focused.”

“Lindsey has been a very important part of our daughter’s education at a key point in her final year at junior school. Despite having reservations before she met Lindsey, our daughter immediately took to her and has since been very enthusiastic to continue after school tuition. Lindsey has demonstrated an ability to explain to our daughter certain problems/ideas that she was struggling to understand, which in turn has given her the confidence to attack new challenges and not to have a block on learning areas of a subject. Lindsey has instilled in our daughter a level of confidence and enthusiasm that the school, despite its deserved good reputation, has been unable to achieve. Learning can be interesting and enjoyable and Lindsey has been very good at demonstrating this and bringing out the best in our daughter with respect to the core subjects of Maths and English.”
