    Laura is an experienced and supportive science tutor. In 2004, she completed a BA in Natural Sciences and Biological Anthropology at the University of Cambridge. In 2006, she completed a Masters in Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and, in 2010, she completed a PhD in the Social Epidemiology of HIV at Imperial College London. She has published her research findings in top medical journals including The Lancet and Social Science & Medicine. Since 2015, she has worked as a Mental Health Care Coordinator and gained a professional diploma from Middlesex University. She is currently writing a book on the relationship between care work and psychotherapy.

    Laura has a variety of teaching experience. At various times over the years, she has worked as a private tutor teaching GCSE Science and A-level Biology. She has organised and lectured on undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the Faculty of Medicine at Imperial College London and has supervised students at BSc, MSc and PhD levels. She has also supported students with Oxbridge, and other university applications including interview preparation and help with personal statements.

    A combination of academic excellence, extensive teaching experience and awareness of the importance of student mental wellbeing underpins Laura’s work as a science tutor. She is approachable and friendly. She enjoys working with young people and has particular experience working with those who might be struggling or experiencing anxiety at school. She tries to tailor her tuition to the needs of each individual student. She always has a strong focus on developing exam technique, which can be useful for a range of academic subjects. She has a passion for science and biology and hopes to inspire the same in her students. She looks forward to helping students and families achieve their goals with her sensitive and student-centred approach.
