Kirsty is a qualified English teacher and learning mentor. In 2016, she gained QTS and a PGCE with ‘Outstanding’ and went on to teach KS3-KS5 English, with a focus on KS3 literacy and GCSE literature. She is now an AQA GCSE examiner and a programme coordinator for education charity, The Access Project.
Kirsty approaches tutoring with a combination of creativity, rigour and good humour. Her love of language and literature is infectious and her teaching experience equips her with deep subject knowledge and the ability to support students across all attainment levels. She has worked with students with a range of additional learning needs, including dyslexia and ASD.
Originally from Edinburgh and with an English degree from the University of St Andrews, she worked for a literary agency for 3 years before becoming a teacher.
