John completed his PhD in philosophy at King’s College London in 2016. He has seven years experience working as an undergraduate tutor in philosophy and political theory at King’s. In addition to teaching at university, John has for many years worked with A Level pupils, helping them achieve success in philosophy and religious studies exams.
John also has extensive experience helping prepare pupils for the 11+ exams in London. Whether looking for specific targeted help with individual parts of the exam syllabus, or comprehensive preparation across the board in maths, English, verbal and non verbal reasoning, John will be able to tailor make tutorials as required.
Having been through the education system himself at all levels, and having taught students up to Masters level, John is well attuned to the stresses and anxieties that preparing for exams and writing essays can produce. Consequently, his approach aims to build intellectual self confidence so that students can relax and enjoy the work, leaving academic anxiety behind. In addition to his academic interests, John is a keen hill walker and rock climber.
