With five years of tutoring experience Joe has worked with students with different needs in humanities including English. Joe teaches English and maths up to KS2 to give students confidence in their ability with fun lessons led by different games. Joe’s 11+ students have responded well and enjoyed his tutoring gaining a high success rate. Joe studied at a grammar school from year 7-13 and therefore is knowledgeable on the demands of the 11+ as well as the school system. Throughout their time in secondary school Joe has helped students become more involved in their humanities subjects, including English, history, geography and philosophy and ethics to help them achieve their GCSEs. Joe tutors history and politics at A-Level and offer history help for university students too. He places a large emphasis on essay writing as this is often where students struggle the most and can be the difference between grades
Working in an SEN department in two different secondary schools has provided Joe with the knowledge and training on Autism, Dyspraxia, Slow Processing of Information, Tourettes, Dyslexia that is needed to ensure all students can access their right to an education. With this experience he can tailor lessons to students’ specific needs. Joe has worked in teams with educational psychologists and occupational therapists to ensure that the support provided for SEN students is the best that it can be.
