Jenny is a friendly, enthusiastic and creative teacher. She has over twenty years experience of teaching in primary schools from Nursery to Year 6, teaching a range of subjects. Her compassion and ability to inspire creates the perfect environment for children to thrive. Jenny’s diverse range of primary school experiences in the UK and abroad since qualifying as a teacher allows her to share a range of skills and cultural understanding during her lessons. This has been in a variety of settings including state and private schools, online and home environments. She has also worked with Year 7 students on the Key Stage 3 curriculum.
She has worked as a Head Teacher of two successful London primary schools, and held the roles of Early Years Leader, Key Stage 1 Leader, Science Leader, Gifted & Talented Leader and Curriculum Leader during her career. She has supported students to achieve well in their Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 SATS and has tutored students in their entrance assessments to Alleyns. She is particularly passionate about teaching Maths and is a qualified Every Child Counts Teacher (Oxford Brooke’s University) and can support students who find Maths a bit tricky or need further challenge.
Jenny graduated from Durham University with a degree in Geography before obtaining a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. Having left school with 1A and 3Bs at A-level and 9As and 1B at GCSE, Jenny understands what it takes to help prepare students for success in their exams.
Jenny is also experienced in working with SEN pupils, including those with dyslexia, and has developed a wide range of strategies to inspire and build resilience in pupils. Jenny’s ethos it to create a safe and supportive learning environment so students are confident in their abilities and continue to approach their studies with curiosity and passion. She creates a strong and positive rapport with the students which is key to building their confidence and success. She also places their individual needs at the centre of her teaching and tailors her sessions accordingly. Jenny aims to teach fun and engaging sessions using both online and practical resources. Sessions are well structured with clear academic and personal outcomes.
In her spare time Jenny volunteers in a local hospital in the children’s A&E department with her therapy dog, enjoys running, loves to cook and paint.
