Jean-Christophe is a qualified teacher with over 25 years‘ experience in various primary schools in London where he has held various managerial responsibilities such as Lead for Literacy, Lead for Maths and Assistant Head. He has helped develop the school curriculum in English and maths to make learning an inspiring and enriching experience. More recently, he has focused on providing support to children in years 2 and 6, helping them consolidate basic skills and maximise their potential.
Jean-Christophe has also tutored children of primary school age, including successfully for the 10+ exam at Emmanuel School. He specialises in tutoring maths and English at KS1 & 2 (including SATs) as well as the 10+ and 11+ exams. Using his excellent knowledge of the assessment process in KS1 and 2, he can plan and deliver individually tailored and engaging lessons, adapting his teaching methods to the needs of his learners.
Jean-Christophe believes in creating a relaxed yet stimulating learning environment where students feel safe to take risks and make mistakes. This enables them to become more confident, reveal their full potential and make good progress.
In his spare time, Jean-Christophe enjoys going for walks with his partner and their dog. He is also studying for a Master’s degree in translation. Some of his work has already been published by Global Voices and Humanium.
