Jason is a qualified primary school teacher (for ages 5 to 11) and currently teaches full time in a school in Forest Hill. He has been teaching for over ten years. During this time, he has taught children with a wide range of ability and need. He has also been a member of the Senior Leadership Team and currently leads on maths and computing. He has also line managed other teachers.
Jason believes that the most important aspect of teaching anything is the relationship between the learner and the teacher. His attitude to teaching and learning is based on current research, including Singapore teaching methods, growth mindset techniques and meta-cognition. This has led to many children in his care making exceptional progress in their learning and – more importantly – in their confidence and their understanding of how they learn.
Jason has taught in Year 6 for many years and has a thorough understanding of how to help children fulfil their potential during an exam (especially SATs). He has helped many children make above expected progress and achieve results that truly reflect their potential, including some children who have taken the 11+ and school entrance exams.
Jason believes that if children listen carefully to advice, think hard and practice, they can achieve amazing things.
