Jack is a final year Mathematics PhD student and specialist Maths tutor based in Canada Water, with hundreds of hours of experience in mathematics teaching all the way up to undergraduate level. He graduated in 2014 from the University of Cambridge with a BA (First Class) and Masters/MMath (Distinction) in Mathematics.
Before this, whilst at Prior Pursglove College in Guisborough, North Yorkshire, he achieved 3 A*s at A Level (in Maths, Further Maths and English Language), 5 As at AS Level (in Maths, Further Maths, English Language, Fine Art and Music), as well as an A* in an EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) in Maths (equivalent to an AS Level) and Grade 1 in both STEP II and III.
An enthusiastic and diligent tutor, his mathematics specialism allows him to put curriculum topics in their broader mathematical context. Equally comfortable teaching the brightest students, for whom their classes may not move quickly enough, and students who are struggling to get their heads around core concepts, Jack relishes the challenge of ensuring that each student gets the most out of each tutorial.
In his spare time Jack is a keen musician, for example having played at a number of May Balls whilst at Cambridge, including with a jazz quartet which he led on guitar.
