    Hugh is a professional and highly skilled Economics and Business Studies teacher, with over 18 years’ experience in both day and boarding schools, gaining exceptional results.  After graduating with an MA in Economics, he embarked on a career as an Officer in the Royal Navy before moving into teaching and running boarding houses in some of the UK’s top independent schools.  He has examined for the IBDP for over 8 years and has a detailed knowledge of both A level, IGCSE and GCSE Economics and Business Studies specification (AQA, IB, OCR and EdExcel).  He is happy to provide one on one tuition or small group sessions, with extensive resources supplied.

    With a long career as both an educator, examiner and housemaster, he is well aware of the demands and pressures of modern day learning, working with students from over 50 nationalities, including China, Russia and all EU countries; and with qualifications in mental health, safeguarding and mindfulness, he understands the importance to tailor each session to the tutees needs , pushing for excellence in a calm and structured manner.  He is accomplished at tailoring UCAS applications to Russell group and Ivy League universities and is willing to coach students in both interview techniques and wider reading requirements.
