Georgie is a passionate, dedicated educator who strives to engage and stimulate pupils through personalised structures of learning tailored to the individual strengths of the student. She believes strongly that the best approach to both tutoring and learning alike is to find the area of the subject that inspires interest and start there, using a patient and dedicated approach to reach the individual’s goals. She leads with knowledge and skills-based learning and translates that foundation into an assessment focused mindset, rather than the other way round.
Georgie holds a degree in Classics with English Literature from King’s College London and is in the process of starting her PGCE. At present she works as a professional Academic Tutor within a Secondary School & Sixth-Form in North London and has worked with a wide number of pupils from Key Stage 3 to A-Level across a multitude of disciplines within that capacity. All of the students she has worked with have seen marked improvement in comprehension, confidence and assessment. The subjects she tutors include: English, History, Classical Civilisation, Philosophy, Drama & Theatre Studies, Latin, Extended Project Support, LNAT (Law National Aptitude Test), UCAS Applications, Essay Writing and Creative Writing.
Georgie also has experience working as a technician and teaching assistant in a South London Pottery Studio. Within this practice she worked with a range of children aged four to fourteen at after school ceramics clubs. The freedom and expression of this creative teaching has prompted Georgie to bring a holistic, rounded approach to the methods of learning she conveys.
