Profile
Geoff is a highly skilled and experienced tutor of Economics, Philosophy, and Business whose tutees have an outstanding track record of success. His expertise is in A Level tuition and university & Oxbridge applications. Geoff read Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at Oxford University and has a Masters in Philosophy from St Andrews. As well as being a tutor Geoff has been an Economics Research Associate at the Adam Smith Institute and has delivered corporate lectures on renewable energy finance internationally.
Geoff has a deep passion for his subjects and firmly believes tutorials should be not only rigorous but also fun! He understands that tutees are all unique and have their own particular challenges (whether that be procrastination, feeling overwhelmed, or teachers not having the time to attend to their particular needs) and he is dedicated to tailoring each session to a tutee’s requirements and working patiently to achieve the best results possible for them. He has also found that confidence is a key building block for success and works with tutees on both syllabus coverage and, crucially, exam technique – both are essential to getting top grades. His university and Oxbridge preparation focuses on writing first-rate personal statements, extra-curricular reading and discussion, interview preparation, and encouraging the evaluative mindset required for higher education.
He has taught students at a variety of schools and universities including Charterhouse, Eton, Radley, Millfield, Harris Academy, Reach Academy, Cambridge University, Warwick University, and students abroad including the UAE, Taiwan, Turkey, and China. He was delighted that all his tutees in 2022 were accepted into their first choice universities including Oxford, LSE, and Manchester.
In his spare time Geoff enjoys playing sports, football in particular, reading, travelling, music, and spending time with friends.
