Profile
Gabrielle is a qualified secondary school English teacher with five years of teaching experience primarily in a state comprehensive academy school. She left teaching to study for a masters degree and graduated with an MPhil in Education graded at Merit from the University of Cambridge and is now a GCSE English Language examiner for AQA.
Gabrielle is primarily an English Literature and English Language tutor who loves working with students on a wide range of texts and is familiar with a range of different specifications including AQA, WJEC and Pearson Edexcel. She has high expectations of all her students and is dedicated to finding the right learning strategies to allow all of her students to fulfil their potential. When working as a teacher, she specialised in working with candidates aiming for grades 7-9 who were looking to broaden their knowledge and develop critical reading and analytical skills that acknowledge established criticism. She holds a CACHE qualification in child and adolescent mental health which she worked for alongside her teaching practice to help support students with SEMH needs. Gabrielle also has an NVQ Level 3 in Information, Advice and Guidance and is skilled in assisting students in their preparation for university and the wider world, whether that be through UCAS applications and Oxbridge interviews or applications to vocational courses, apprenticeships and jobs.
Gabrielle currently works at the ADC Theatre in Cambridge, supporting student and amateur theatre companies to produce shows from pitch to performance. In her spare time she loves to read and visit the theatre and has taken her own original musical “Living with Sin” to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2022.
