Fran is a highly skilled tutor and fully qualified teacher of History (KS3, KS4, KS5), Geography (KS3,KS4) and Humanities (KS3). As a former Head of PSHE (Personal Social Health Education) she is passionate about helping students from a variety of backgrounds, from SEN and Gifted and Talented, to students whose first language is not English. Fran believes each lesson should be a collaboration between student and tutor and as such lessons are not generic, but tailored to the individual student’s needs. This, coupled with continuous communication with the parents and homework, (which will be marked and returned at the beginning of class) allows for increasing success for the student in their self confidence and exam skills. Fran has spent many years working with home-schooled students with complex needs as well as working with students with ADHD, Dyslexia and Dyspraxia.
After 15 years as a teacher in schools across London, Fran is equally familiar with all exam boards including AQA and Edexcel, at both GCSE and A’Level. Her unique experience as a teacher motivating even the most apathetic students followed by many years as a tutor puts her in a unique position to make History and Geography interesting and accessible to all students whatever their circumstances and ability.
