Florence is a creative and enthusiastic qualified primary teacher who hopes to inspire students to succeed to the best of their ability. She is patient and dedicated to building confidence in her students, caring enormously about their understanding and progress. Her students value the calm, caring way in which she helps to explain ideas and concepts.
Florence has a wealth of experience as a class teacher in both state-funded and independent primary schools in South London. She has excellent knowledge of the primary curriculum and 11+ entrance exams. Florence works well with children of all abilities: her high expectations and specific subject knowledge challenges high attainers, while her personal skills and understanding of special educational needs allow her to push SEN students to reach their true academic potential too. Florence now specialises in teaching Maths, English and Science to children across Key Stage 2. She is also able to provide general homework and revision support, including improving essay writing skills.
Florence earned a 2.1 BSc in Sports Science (Hons) from the University of Leeds in 2015 and then went on to complete her PGCE at UCL Institute of Education. She is also a 2015 Teach First Ambassador, having completed the two-year Leadership Development Programme.
