Felix is a tutor of History, Ancient History, English Language and English Literature. He also tutors essay writing skills and revision for the Oxbridge History Aptitude Test (HAT).

At A-Level, Felix took History, Classical Civilisation and English Literature and received 2 A*s and an A respectively. At the University of Durham, he studied Liberal Arts and majored in History and Ancient History. After graduating with a high 2:1 and a 1st in his History Dissertation, he began an internship at Christie’s, where he worked for the Books & Manuscripts Department.

Felix has lived in five countries and been schooled in four of them, which has enabled him to experience a range of culturally diverse teaching styles. He has also experienced both state and private school systems, including a state and private primary school, a state secondary school and a private boarding school. Indeed, this has given him a broad understanding of and appreciation of various teaching approaches and what works best for which students and which exams.

Felix places particular emphasis on essay writing skills, believing that students must be able to express themselves confidently on paper: to be cognisant of what the examiners are looking for, while not being afraid of making their writing truly their own. Furthermore, he encourages students to improve their analysis of historical and literary sources, for he considers them invaluable techniques which are often overlooked when it comes to the revision season.

“My son got a scholarship (we found out today), so we are very grateful for all Emmanuel did. My son really enjoyed the tutorials; they gave him confidence and polished his exam technique.”
