Emilia read Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at the University of Oxford after achieving 4 A*s at A Level (Economics, Politics, Latin, and Maths), an A at AS Level (French), and 12 A* GCSEs. She has been tutoring since she graduated in 2019, and has helped countless students achieve their target grades, get places at their first-choice universities, including Oxford and Cambridge, and improve their academic confidence.

She believes that the best foundation for academic success is developing intellectual curiosity and a genuine interest for the subject at hand. She therefore teaches through tailored, individual sessions which aim to address each student’s individual needs, be they the syllabus itself, exam technique, or anything in between, in an engaging, thorough, and (hopefully!) enjoyable way. She knows that exam success is often a student’s main concern, and ensures that her sessions are geared towards helping her students both enhance their knowledge and develop a feel for how to best apply that knowledge in an exam setting; she augments the syllabus with specific examples and additional insights which help her students achieve the highest grades.

She particularly enjoys helping students with their university applications. Her Personal Statement sessions focus on helping her students to identify, develop, and discuss their areas of academic interest, and she is able to support on everything from suggesting reading material to meeting the dreaded word count without sacrificing content! For Oxford PPE applicants, she also offers support with the TSA in focussed sessions which aim to identify and work to strengthen the student’s weaker areas. She also offers mock interview sessions which draw on her own Oxford interview experience.

When she isn’t tutoring, Emilia works as a freelance film producer and consultant for the likes of Transport for London. She is an avid reader, and enjoys film photography, climbing, and working on classic cars…!
