Elliot has a first class degree in Experimental Psychology (BSc) from The University of Bristol. In 2018 he was awarded the Outstanding Achievement Prize for achieving the highest overall mark in his year. While studying, he was employed by the department to develop and facilitate their Science of Happiness course, which has since been added to the University’s first year curriculum. Since leaving university, he has started tutoring regularly, teaching individuals from 6 to 22 years old in a range of different areas, from science to creative writing to general mentoring and organisation. Elliot went to Alleyn’s School, and was in receipt of an academic scholarship for all 7 years of his study. He therefore has first-hand experience of the school, the 11+ exam and the interview process.
Aside from tuition, Elliot’s main passions lie in music and theatre. His music has earned him praise from The Guardian, Lauren Laverne and Elton John, while the play he most recently wrote and directed was shortlisted for the Questor’s Playwriting Award and enjoyed a sold out run in Bristol. Elliot applies this creative experience to his lesson plans, aiming to create an exciting teaching environment that is dynamic, empathetic and student led, whilst remaining focused and productive.
