Eliot is an Oxford graduate and qualified teacher, who has been working in education since 2007. Before beginning a Masters last year, Eliot worked at North London Collegiate School as a Classics teacher, where he taught Latin, Greek and Classical Civilisation and supported many students going on to read Classics at Oxford or Cambridge. He has also marked for OCR for a number of years.
Eliot has extensive tutoring experience in both Classics and English, including teaching children and adults with specific learning difficulties. Over the past decade, he has helped to prepare students studying for AQA, Edexcel, Eduqas(WJEC) and OCR examinations in both English Language and Literature, and all the OCR, Pre U and I.B. Classics qualifications. Additionally, Eliot’s students have enjoyed success in 13+ examinations for a number of academically selective schools including Eton, Harrow and Westminster.
When tutoring, Eliot enjoys being able to focus on an individual student’s goals, be they gaining entry to a particular school or university, attaining a certain grade, or simply feeling more assured in the fundamentals of the subject. He can adapt his teaching style to suit the student’s preferences and strengths and always aims to improve learner confidence and independence, through tutorials which are relaxed, yet intellectually challenging.
