David is a sincere and engaging tutor with a passion for teaching and learning. After being awarded a degree in English Literature from the University of Edinburgh, he worked in book publishing for three years before becomin0 a tutor two years ago. He loves working with young people of all ages and has had particular success (100% so far) with placing his students at their desired secondary schools, including Alleyn’s, Trinity and Dulwich College. He also has experience with Charterhouse’s academic scholarship, having been awarded one himself, the Westminster Challenge and Eton’s King’s scholarship.
David’s patient manner and encouraging approach is particularly suited to pupils who are either shy or a little low on confidence and need help getting the best out of themselves. He has worked with dyslexics, taught English as a second language and specialises in teaching English, Maths and the Sciences. David is also bilingual thanks to his French mother. Working with each individual to address their particular needs is, for him, the challenge, the greatest advantage and the real joy of one-to-one tutoring.
