Daemienne is a dynamic, inspiring tutor with an enormous sense of fun.
She is a hugely experienced tutor and has successfully prepared many students for their entrance exams for many of the Dulwich and South London selective schools. Daemienne also has experience of home schooling and one of her recent tutees won a scholarship to a leading Kensington Preparatory School. Damienne would therefore be an excellent choice for any parent wishing to rigorously prepare their children for common entrance at 7+, 9+, 11+ and 13+ or for any student that needs extra help with their school work.
Daemienne has an M.A. (Distinction) in Journalism and an Honours B.A. in English from the University of Toronto and McGill. She has also studied at SOAS for a degree in Advanced Japanese for Diplomacy and Business. During her career as a journalist, Daemienne’s clients have included: the BBC, Maxim, Wine International, The Oldie, Italy, The Independent, Trinity Mirror Group and Footprint Travel Guides.
In her own words: ‘Effort tends to lead to success. Great effort leads to great success.’
We were very grateful to Daemienne for everything that she did. Daemienne really “got” our daughter from the start and was a constant encouragement to her with her enthusiasm and cheerfulness every single week to which she responded enormously.
Her lessons were fun (in our daughter’s words “joyful”!), so there were no anxieties or pressures which is exactly what we wanted. Daemienne’s insights into how the process takes place helped us, alongside her own tutoring approach, to build confidence so that she could enter the assessments with a calm attitude.
I am not sure if Daemienne has let you know of the results, but we applied to Sydenham Girls, Rosemead, Jags and Alleyn’s. Lily received an offer from all of them!
