Claudia is a friendly and enthusiastic tutor, who specialises in English and History tutoring from 11-18, Maths to GCSE and 11+/13+ exam prep in both English and Maths.
She grew up in Manchester, where she achieved 10 A* and 1 A in her GCSEs. She took four A Levels in History, English Literature, Music and Maths, achieving 2 A* and 2 A respectively. She studied History at Balliol College, Oxford, where she was awarded a First Class Degree. She recently completed an MA in Middle Eastern and African History at SOAS, University of London for which she received a distinction. As well as tutoring, she also works as a freelance researcher and writer. In her spare time she enjoys cooking and seeing friends, as well as reading and listening to music. She is learning Spanish, and is interested in politics and current affairs.
She is keen to help students build their confidence and creates personalised lesson plans to tackle any weaknesses and improve strengths. Her approach to tutoring is collaborative, working alongside students to make sure they feel motivated and encouraged. She works hard to make sure students feel comfortable asking questions, and encourages them to develop studying skills which will be helpful in the long-term and outside tutorials.
