Ben is a qualified teacher with a PGCE (secondary History) from Cambridge University and two years’ experience teaching History at KS3, GCSE and A-Level. He has also recently worked as a supply teacher at primary level. Although a History specialist, Ben is currently focusing his tutoring on preparing students for the 11+ exam. He has tutored students for the Emanuel and Alleyn’s entrance exams and is currently also teaching in preparation for the KCS Wimbledon, Dulwich College and Westminster exams. Ben can tutor students in both Maths and English. This is helpful for parents who want to work with just one tutor and is an advantage for the student because Ben can get a complete view of their progress.
Ben attended Emanuel School on a academic scholarship and gained three A-Levels at Grade A. He holds degrees from Edinburgh (MA History, First Class) and Harvard (MA Middle East Studies), where he was awarded a Frank Knox Fellowship (a full scholarship based on outstanding leadership potential). Away from work he is very interested in climate change and is setting up a climate change education programme for schools.
