Alex is a patient, equable, engaging and enthusiastic tutor, with a 2:1 undergraduate degree in Drama from the University of Exeter, also attaining a merit in his Postgraduate Acting degree at the Guildford School of Acting. Before deciding upon Drama at Exeter as his degree subject, Alex was offered and accepted a place at the University of Durham to read Philosophy, a subject that remains a great passion of his to this day.
He speaks intermediate level French and continues his studies in the language today, and is skilled at communicating to all ages, believing that education and learning should and can be engaging and enjoyable for all. Alex also has past experience in tutoring dyslexic students, having helped a younger sibling with dyslexia throughout his academic career.
A passionate actor and singer, as well as a voracious reader and writer, he has written and directed his own work since his time at university. Alex has extensive experience in combining Drama theory with practical work, and can also tutor students looking to apply to and audition for Drama Schools and Conservatoires in the UK. He is highly organised, and committed to focusing on students’ weak spots in their academic profiles, to ensure a comprehensive level of understanding and confidence in the subject material.
“I believe in learning at a student’s own pace, and pushing their boundaries at a comfortable rate.”
