Thom is a doctor (anaesthetist) and works part time in the NHS. He holds degrees in Neuroscience and Medicine, and also Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists. He was awarded his MBChB degree with honours and won several other prizes at medical school.
Thom has taught and trained medical students and junior doctors since 2005, and now is taking on tutees in general science, biology and biomedical sciences. He is also able to help with medical school applications, 11 and 13 plus entrance exams and interview preparation.
His teaching approach is to take the lead from his students and help them identify their own learning needs, setting them up for independent learning in the future.
Where there are specific areas of difficulties, Thom teach techniques for structuring answers and learning/recalling information.
