Michelle is an outstanding dynamic tutor who has taught English and Drama for 10 years to KS3, 4 and 5 students. In her last school she was Head of the Arts Faculty and Head of Drama as well as an English Teacher. She has had excellent results and all her lesson observations in recent years have been judged as ‘Outstanding’ in both English and Drama. She is passionate about her subjects and education as a whole with a love of learning which motivates and inspires students. She has a degree from the University of Bristol and a Masters in Education (Distinction) and she is hoping to go on to obtain her Doctorate. Michelle was also lead subject mentor for trainee teachers and has worked alongside University College London/Institute of Education, interviewing potential candidates for the English and Drama PGCE course.

Michelle has an excellent work ethic and extremely high standards and has built up very strong positive relationships with students she has worked with as well as parents and carers. She has worked with students with a broad range of Special Educational Needs throughout her teaching career including one-to-one intervention and was Gifted and Talented Co-ordinator for two years. She has an excellent understanding of how to guide students of all abilities to become independent learners and achieve their full potential.

Before training as a teacher Michelle studied for a Diploma in Acting at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School where she received a Distinction. She worked as a professional actress for 10 years all over the UK, as well as Canada, India, Italy and Sweden. Her work encompassed the full range of the acting profession including theatre, television, short films, radio, voiceover and corporate work. She is currently studying Theatre Directing at the Royal Central School for Speech and Drama. She believes her experience and the skills she has developed bring a unique quality to the way that she teaches which has enabled her to engage, motivate and inspire students, as well as develop their communication and presentational skills and improve their confidence.
